I set up a native pagemaker file with no other placed images in it and made sure that the font used was postscript. It doesnt seem to be the file that is the problem.

PROBLEM 1: Cannot create a pdf from the job option supplied by bureau. Hi, have tried some of the different suggestions that you all have made. In Pagemaker do I bring in the Illustrator file as a composite or as separations and then when I print to postscript, do I check off Separations for colour? I have to take it into Pagemaker for another issue and anyway my PDF have gone crazy in Ill9. How make it possible for the printer to access the separations. The job is in two colours, and has been set up in illustrator as 100% in two of the CMYK channels. Is the solution to uninstall everything (photoshop and Illustrator included) and reinstall all again) or is there an obvious solution out thereĪ separate but connected issue is that my printer wants this file as a pdf.
What on earth is left? Have I just totally wrecked everything by doing all this.

I have also gone into printers and deleted the generic printer and another copy printer and then reinstalled the Postscript printer driver from the Pagemaker software. I have uninstalled both Pagemaker and Acrobat and reinstalled (with antivirus software off) Something that I thought was strange was that when I reinstalled Acrobat, I didnt have to replace the ppds for a few printers that I had manually placed in the distiller settings folder.

Last night I downloaded a ppd (postscript printer driver):Agav044x.ppd, would this cause a conflict? I've now deleted it from c:-Program files>Adobe>Pagemaker>RSRC>USEnglish>PPD4/ in case there was a conflict with printer drivers and still have had no success with this illustrator file. I have recently had my machine reformatted and reinstalled all software programs. %%warning:Postscript error No PDF file produced%% Distiller is unable to create the PDF and comes up with "%%Flushing: rest of job (to end of file) will be ignored)%% and Then I launch Acrobat Distiller (comes up with the swirly acrobat logo), choose my ppd, open the postscript file that was created and hit save. the way I've been trying to create the pdf is by going: File>Print>Generic Postscript Printer>Acrobat Distiller (asPPD), Options checked as Normal for image data, and write to postscript file and normal in the radio button. I can create pdf in ill and photoshop but not from pagemaker (mind you the pdf's being created in these other programs arent good, half of the image is missing or centered in the middle of the pdf.Īnyway back to the Pagemaker problem. This ill9 file has tiff photoshop images in it. The Pagemaker file has been placed from Illustrator as a native ill9 file. My problem is that my Pagemaker file resists being created into a PDF. I operate on Windows 98SE and am using Pagemaker 7 and Distiller 5. But maybe if I can explain my problem, the solution may be obivious to someone out there. Have visited this forum and the Acrobat one and tried many different suggestions.
